A Night at the Museum
Roar & Snore with a Dinosaur

6 p.m. - 9 a.m.

 

TIMES:   Arrival is from 5:45 to 6:00 pm and the camp ends at 9:00 am. 
 
AGES:   These camps are for children ages 6 to 12 and their chaperones.  Individual families and groups may register. 
 
CHAPERONES:   Chaperones are required.  The ratio is one chaperone per three children.  Chaperones must be at least 21 years old.
 
COST:  The cost for the overnight camp is $35.00 for museum members, $45.00 for non-members and $40.00 for groups of ten or more.  The cost is the same for children and chaperones.  Payment is due at registration.  Refunds may be issued if notified more than a week before the camp.  There will be no refunds issued after that date.  The Arizona Museum of Natural History reserves the right to cancel the program if minimum number of participants is not met.
 
TO REGISTER:  Registration can be done by phone only. You may make payment by credit card over the phone when registering.  You may pay in person at the museum and we accept credit cards, cash or checks with proper id.  You will then receive a confirmation packet with your receipt.  Your registration is not considered confirmed until payment is made.   All registrations need to be paid in full a week in advance.  Contact Alison Stoltman at alison.stotlman@mesaaz.gov or

WHAT WILL BE IN CONFIRMATION PACKET:  Confirmation letter, receipt,  permission slip, waiver of liability, order form for memory packets for groups, guidelines for chaperones and camp rules.   
 
FOOD:  Participants must eat before arriving at the Museum, as dinner will NOT be served.  There will be an evening snack such as fruit, granola bars or pretzels and a light breakfast of fruit, juice, cereal, muffins and milk in the morning.  Coffee and tea will be available for the adults.  If there are allergies please let Alice know at time of registration.
 
MUSEUM STORE:  Museum Store will be open for one half hour in the morning.    The gift shop has Memory Packets available for $1.00 each and they make a wonderful souvenir. 
 
CHECK IN:  Check in at the table in the lobby.  Please bring your confirmation letter and all permission slips and contact information.  Check in time is from 5:45 pm to 6:15 pm.
 
PARKING:  Free parking is available in the city garage behind the museum.  Locked parking will be available in the museums parking lot if desired.  The parking lot will be locked at 6:15 pm.
 
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:  Each group will have a specified area.  You will have time during the evening to set up your area.  We will make every effort to have all girl groups in a different area from all boy groups.  However, please be aware that we are limited by the size and layout of museum and cannot guarantee this.
 
DEPARTURE:  Camp ends at 9:00am and all campers must be out of the building by 9:15 am
 
 
What to Bring

  • Sleeping bag and pillow
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Wash cloth/hand towel
  • Flashlight
  • Comfortable clothing you can sleep in*
  • Gym shoes, please no sandals
  • Adults may bring a cell phone but we ask that it be used for emergencies only.
  • You may also want to bring an air mattress and pump, earplugs and a camera.

*Please note: the temperature varies in the museum so it is best to dress in layers.
 
 
What NOT to Bring

  • Tents
  • Outside food or drink unless preapproved due to dietary restrictions
  • Electronics, this includes gaming systems, mp3 players for anyone and cell phones for the children.  We will be busy and there will not be time for these items nor can we be responsible for them if they are lost.
