Volunteers needed currently in the
following areas:
Exploration Station Volunteer
Available shifts:
Wednesdays: 1 - 4 pm
Thursdays: 1 - 4 pm
4th Sundays: 1 - 4 pm
The Exploration Station is a children friendly
area where visitors can color, put puzzles together,
do dinosaur rubbings, play games and much more.
Exploration Station volunteers ready the Exploration
Station to open, greet public, instruct and assist
with activities in the room, keep supplies
available, keep room orderly. Our volunteers enjoy
working with children, are knowledgeable about the
museum, and have good customer service skills.
Training scheduled for New
Exploration Station Facilitators!
When the newly renovated Exploration
Station opens in January it will have a
new look and a new focus. The focus will
be on science literacy. There will be
specially designed activity carts,
books, puzzles and activity centers for
the children who visit the museum to use
and enjoy.
Exploration Station volunteer
facilitators will prepare Exploration
Station to open, greet and aid visitors,
assist children/caregivers in exploring
the interactives, must be able to stand
and move around the room freely for
duration of shift, keep supplies
available and room orderly, and prepare
Exploration Station to close.
Facilitators need to enjoy working with
children, be organized, and have good
customer service skills.
Both week day and week-end shifts
available

Museum Store Volunteers
Available Shifts:
Tuesdays: 1 - 5 pm
Fridays: 1 - 5 pm
1st and 3rd Sundays: 1 – 5 pm
Greet customers, offer assistance, comprehend all
cash register & bagging procedures, know opening and
closing procedures, straighten and restock. Must be
able to stand for 4 hours. Must be proficient in
ringing up sales on register and provide excellent
customer service within 30 days of start date.
1st Sunday Volunteers
Available shifts:
First Sunday of each month
Noon – 4
Volunteer opportunities in the gold panning
courtyard, museum store, lobby and more. Please
