Christy Abrams serves as the Hard of Hearing Specialist at the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (ACDHH). In this role, she is responsible for providing statewide training, facilitating the Hard of Hearing Task Force, and connecting individuals with essential information and resources to help them live well with hearing loss. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and over 25 years of experience in the fields of aging and social work. She offers personal insight, having lived with severe bilateral hearing loss since childhood. She is currently bimodal, utilizing one cochlear implant and one hearing aid.

My name is Kimberly Minard, Deaf Specialist at the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (ACDHH). I am a proud graduate of Gallaudet University, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Communications Arts. Gallaudet, located in Washington DC, is the only liberal arts university for the deaf in the world. My education at Gallaudet has equipped me with a strong foundation in communication and advocacy, which I am eager to apply in my role at ACDHH. As a Deaf Specialist, my primary responsibilities revolve around providing services to the deaf community. These include but are not limited to information and referral services, empowerment initiatives, community development programs, outreach efforts, and educational support. One of my key roles is to advocate for the rights of Deaf citizens, ensuring that they have access to communication and resources that facilitate their full participation in society. I am deeply passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals within the deaf community, and I am committed to promoting inclusivity and accessibility in all aspects of life. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you and your team to further our shared goals of enhancing communication accessibility and empowering the deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind community in Arizona.
